I am passionate about sharing my love of Australia’s wild places with others, especially women. It may sound a bit cheesy but I can categorically say my car changed my life! Terence, a 1998 Toyota Landcruiser Prado, was my very first 4WD and a car that opened many doors for me.
I’m not a mechanic, I’m not a rev-head and I only have one (very small) tattoo. I didn’t grow up on a farm driving utes and wrangling cattle, in fact I grew up in Scotland where the concept of off-road driving never really occurred to me.
And then I bought Terence….
I’ve travelled Big-lap around Australia and many places in-between and currently live in Karratha, Western Australia. I writes and photograph travel articles for 4WD magazines (4WD Action, Camper Trailer Touring, Overlander, Unsealed 4×4), speak on ABC North West about 4WD tips and tricks (from a lady’s perspective) and am putting the finishing touches to my manuscript (A Lady 4WDer’s Guide to the Outback). You can also find me doing lady-inspiring talks at various locations around the country.
My main aim is to encourage more females to break through the mystery of outback driving and get out on the tracks. If you have a driving licence and a 4WD you’ve got this!
Come join me on a girl’s weekend away camping in the bush where there’s no arguing over the best place to camp, the fire gets lit without a chainsaw in sight, the car gets packed in skilful silence and there’s many a laugh over a bottle of red.
